World Mental Health Day
_
World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on October 10th. This year's theme set by the World Federation of Mental Health is 'workplace mental health'. The theme highlights the importance of addressing mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, for the benefit of people, organizations, and communities. The first WMHD was in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries.
On this day, supporters gather to create more awareness and attention towards mental health, mental illness and mental wellness. Mental health conditions affect the lives of many around the world daily. There continues to be an increasing need to continue to provide information on coping strategies and information for emotional wellness.
